A source told CNN on Monday that Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani and Egyptian Intelligence Chief Hassan Mahmoud Rashad personally briefed Hamas leaders on the 20-point plan.
Earlier, Hamas officials stated that the movement had not yet received the plan and would study it later.
US President Donald Trump announced the plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip during a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington on Monday. The plan includes a phased Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, the release of detainees held by Hamas, the establishment of a new authority in Gaza supported by Arab countries, and the disarmament of Hamas.
Trump urged Hamas to accept the plan, warning that if rejected, Washington would support Israel in taking appropriate measures to eliminate Hamas.
Netanyahu and several senior officials from Arab, Islamic, and European countries expressed their support for Trump’s Gaza plan.
