The American news network CNN reported that 11 U.S. officials will accompany President Donald Trump on his trip to Egypt and Israel, including two ministers: the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Defense.
The network quoted the White House saying that President Trump departed Joint Base Andrews at approximately 4:45 PM Eastern Time on Sunday heading to Tel Aviv, adding that he is scheduled to arrive in Israel on Monday morning local time.
CNN noted that Trump will then travel to Egypt to participate in the peace summit planned to be held in the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh concerning the future of Gaza. The officials accompanying Trump include Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Quinn, White House Chief of Staff Suzy Wiles, White House Deputy Chiefs of Staff Stephen Miller and Dan Scavino, White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt, White House Secretary Will Scharf, and U.S. Ambassador and Chief of Protocol Monica Crowley.
