On Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump praised his very good relationship with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Before receiving South Korean President Lee Jae-myung at the White House, Trump said he “knows Kim better than anyone, almost except his sister.” The U.S. president added, “Now I know him well and we get along… I’m not supposed to say I like him a lot because if I do, the fake news media will kill me.” Trump announced the possibility of another meeting with Kim without providing specific details, saying, “We’ll meet at some point… I’m looking forward to it.” Lee asked the U.S. president to work towards peace on the Korean Peninsula. During his first term, Trump pursued an unconventional policy toward North Korea and met Kim several times aiming to secure denuclearization in Pyongyang.
