Journalist and media figure Samir Omar, head of the news channels sector at the United Media Services Company, said that if Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of the Israeli occupation, continues his desire to achieve normalization without paying the price, and if Israeli policies continue to try to get everything without paying any price, the Abraham Accords will not succeed.

He added in an interview with journalist Ahmed Abu Zeid on “Cairo News” channel that what made the Egyptian-Israeli peace agreements endure is that Israel withdrew from the territories it occupied in 1967 and did not dare to cross that line afterward.

He continued that what cemented this situation between Egypt and Israel was Israel’s commitment to paying the price, and despite that, and although Egypt was the first country to establish normal relations with Israel, the majority of the Egyptian people do not want normalization, and there is official acceptance of this popular stance.

He explained that there is a deep understanding within the Egyptian state apparatus of this popular mood rejecting normalization with Israel because daily crimes are committed against the Palestinian people and in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and every area touched by Israeli hands.

He concluded: “Submission peace will not happen, normalization without paying a price will not happen, and trying to corner the Arabs into establishing relations with Israel without an Israeli commitment that Palestinians obtain their rights, I believe it will not happen.. As long as there is occupation, there is resistance.”
