The national representative in basketball, Al-Ittihad, started its journey in the West Asia Super League (Gulf region) with a well-deserved victory over Shabab Al Ahli UAE with a score of 94-88, in the match held at Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum Sports Hall, as part of the first round of the group stage of the tournament.

The match was strong and balanced in its early periods, with Shabab Al Ahli finishing the first quarter leading 28-23, before Al-Ittihad gradually regained balance relying on organized defense and effective counterattacks, succeeding in winning the remaining quarters 17-16, 25-23, and 30-21, ending the match in their favor with a final score of 94-88, achieving their first victory in the tournament.

Al-Ittihad participates in the tournament within Group One, which includes Al-Muharraq from Bahrain, Kazma from Kuwait, and Shabab Al Ahli from the UAE, while Group Two includes the other national representative Al-Ula, Sharjah from the UAE, Kuwait SC from Kuwait, and Al-Arabi from Qatar.
