His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, received yesterday at his office the Director of the General Authority for Endowments in the Eastern Province, Dr. Ahmed bin Hamad Al-Buali, who presented to His Highness a presentation about the “Municipal Endowment” initiative, in the presence of the Secretary of the Eastern Province, Eng. Fahd bin Mohammed Al-Jubeir, and the Secretary of Al-Ahsa Governorate, Eng. Essam bin Abdulmohsen Al-Mulla.

The Governor of the Eastern Province affirmed that the state – may God protect it – pays great attention to the endowment sector, having established the General Authority for Endowments to organize, develop, govern, and ensure its continuity, enhancing its role in economic and social development, social solidarity among community members, and preserving and developing endowments. He pointed out that endowments have historically played a key role in providing sustainable funding for many social and charitable services, constituting an important tributary for civilizational construction and an economic source for community development.

Dr. Al-Buali explained that the goals of the “Municipal Endowment” initiative are to enhance the financial sustainability of municipalities, achieve community partnership between official bodies and the private and nonprofit sectors, and support developmental initiatives. He noted that the endowment provides public services in religious, scientific, health, economic, social, environmental, and national fields, with social, economic, and national impacts that align with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

Dr. Al-Buali expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Governor of the Eastern Province for his support and interest in developing the endowment sector and his keenness to activate its role in serving the community and achieving sustainable development, affirming that this support constitutes an incentive to continue efforts and qualitative initiatives in this field.
