Sami El Sheshiny, former Zamalek star, praised Egypt’s historic role under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in ending the war on Gaza Strip and signing the ceasefire agreement in Sharm El-Sheikh, emphasizing that Egypt’s stance reflects its strength and steadfastness in facing all challenges.

El Sheshiny said in exclusive statements: “No surrender and no retreat.. This is Egypt, a great country that led the talks, protected our Palestinian brothers, did not displace them from their land, and sent them food supplies.. Without Egypt, the cause would have died.”

The former Zamalek star added that Egypt always proves to be the beating heart of Arabism, acting from a genuine humanitarian and Arab standpoint to support the Palestinian people, stressing that President Sisi led the negotiations with wisdom and courage until the agreement that stopped the bloodshed was achieved.

Celebrations erupted in Gaza Strip after the Gaza agreement came into effect, with chants thanking President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and the Egyptian army for their tremendous efforts to reach a ceasefire.

Large numbers of citizens also gathered in the streets of Gaza to celebrate the ceasefire and the end of the war inside the Strip. Children came out to the streets to celebrate and sing in Khan Younis city after two years of war on the Strip.

Takbeers (chants of praise) rose from the citizens, who also chanted thanks to all the mediators from Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and the United States for their diplomatic efforts to stop the war in Gaza.

Citizens in the streets also gave special thanks to President Sisi, the Egyptian army, and the Egyptian people, chanting “Long live Egypt.” One citizen said: “Many thanks to Arab Egypt for its efforts, always at the forefront, the Egyptian government, and thanks to everyone who contributed to stopping this massacre.. President Sisi is a man of difficult stances and a man of love,” stressing that they were waiting for the moment of ceasefire.
