Italian Serie B club Como has refused a €70 million offer from English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur for their young Argentine player Nico Paz. According to Football Italia, Como rejected the bid, and Paz himself ignored the offer to focus on his future plans. Trusted Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that Real Madrid played a key role in blocking the transfer, as the Spanish club holds a buy-back clause in Paz’s contract with Como. Romano tweeted that Real Madrid is pleased with Paz staying at Como this season but expects him to join Madrid in the summer of 2026. Tottenham initially offered €40 million earlier this month, then raised it twice to €50 million and €70 million, all rejected. Paz, 20, an attacking midfielder, is under contract with Como until 2028 and valued at €35 million according to Transfermarkt. Since joining Como in 2024, he has played 37 matches, scored 7 goals, and provided 10 assists.

He shone in Como’s first Serie B match of the new season, scoring once and assisting another in a 2-0 win over Lazio at Giuseppe Sinigaglia stadium.
