Reuters revealed, citing its sources, the terms of the Russian proposal presented by President Vladimir Putin to end the war in Ukraine. The proposal stipulates preventing Ukraine from joining NATO, and according to the same sources, President Putin expects the lifting of a set of sanctions imposed on Russia. It also seeks official US recognition of Russian sovereignty over the Crimean Peninsula. Regarding the fronts, the Russian proposal includes the return of areas in northern Sumy and northeastern Kharkiv, and in return, Kyiv withdraws from the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The sources confirmed to Reuters that the proposal excludes Putin stopping the firing until a comprehensive agreement is reached, and the proposal includes a commitment to freeze the front in the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.
