US President Donald Trump accused his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping of “conspiring” against his country alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, who were in Beijing to attend a massive military parade commemorating the end of World War II.
The Republican president wrote on his social media platform “Truth Social”: “I wish President Xi and the great people of China a wonderful day of celebrations,” before adding sarcastically, “Please send my best regards to Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un while you conspire against the United States.”
The grand military parade marking the “80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World War against Fascism” was hosted by Chinese President Xi Jinping and attended by more than 20 world leaders, led by Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
In his speech on the occasion, the Chinese president said China “cannot be stopped,” adding, “Humanity once again faces the choice of peace or war, dialogue or confrontation.”
