The Public Prosecution referred the young man who posted a video clip on social media, showing two young men and two young women committing an indecent and immoral act on Al-Mahwar Road in Giza. The defendants appearing in the video were also referred to trial on charges of assaulting the video cameraman in a criminal trial.
The Public Prosecution’s statement on the case included the following:
- The Public Prosecution referred the defendants involved in the indecent act on Al-Mahwar Road and the video cameraman to trial
- The prosecution emphasized the necessity to refrain from publishing videos that violate anyone’s privacy without their consent
- The person who filmed the incident was interrogated for violating the Cybercrime Law
- The Public Prosecution interrogated the perpetrators for assaulting the cameraman and damaging his car
- The defendants admitted to leaving a nightclub, consuming alcohol, and one of the women committing an inappropriate act
- The Public Prosecution released the defendants on bail and referred them to criminal trial
- Publishing photos or videos of any person without their consent constitutes a crime, even if the purpose is to document another crime
- Anyone witnessing a crime must report it to the competent authorities to take legal action
- The Public Prosecution has provided official channels to receive reports of recorded crimes
- The Public Prosecution renews its call for citizens to uphold legal and ethical responsibility
