The Foreign Journalists Association in Israel and the Palestinian territories confirmed on Monday that Tel Aviv has killed a very large number of journalists in the Gaza Strip since October 2023 without justification. The statement followed the Israeli occupation army killing five journalists at the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis (south), raising the total number of Palestinian journalists killed since the start of the extermination war to 245. The Israeli army admitted to bombing the medical complex but tried to evade responsibility for the deaths by mentioning an investigation after announcing the martyrdom of journalists and other civilians.
The Foreign Journalists Association said in a statement: “Today, a group of journalists from major international news agencies, including Reuters, Associated Press, and Al Jazeera, were killed in Israeli military raids.” It confirmed that “these raids are among the most violent Israeli attacks on journalists working in international media since the start of the Gaza war.” “The raids hit the hospital’s outer stairs where the journalists were constantly present with their cameras. The raids came without prior warning,” the statement added. The association demanded an “immediate explanation” from the Israeli army and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office and called on Israel to “stop its disgraceful practices of targeting journalists once and for all.” It stressed that “Israel has killed a very large number of journalists in Gaza without justification and continues to prevent international journalists from accessing Gaza.”
