Manama, September 30 /BNA/ His Excellency Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, praised the successful official visit made by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, to the Vatican City and the Italian Republic. The visit affirms the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to strengthen the principles of peace, coexistence, and human brotherhood, support joint economic and investment cooperation, develop strategic partnerships, and advance the historic close cooperation and friendship to broader horizons and levels.

He pointed out that the fruitful meetings held by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister with His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, Pope of the Vatican, and His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Vatican City, contributed to enhancing Bahrain’s efforts in developing work paths and joint coordination, consolidating the concepts of coexistence, and promoting global peace and stability.

He added that the positive outcomes of the official visit of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the meeting with Her Excellency Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of the friendly Italian Republic, would support frameworks of joint cooperation, open new horizons in the relationship between the two friendly countries, and promote levels of coordination and bilateral partnership in various fields, benefiting both countries and peoples.

The Speaker confirmed parliamentary support for what was announced during the official visit regarding cooperation in space sciences, technologies, and applications, developing customs work mechanisms, customs control, and protecting customs chains, alongside signing a framework cooperation agreement between Mumtalakat Holding Company and Invest Industrial Company for investment cooperation, a bilateral banking partnership agreement in trade and investment, and an agreement of the Italian-Bahraini Business Council to enhance cooperation and develop trade partnerships. This is within the framework of supporting the vital role of the private sector in both countries, in addition to supporting efforts to increase cooperation in energy security and energy transition, enhancing cooperation in construction, transport, tourism, smart cities, and striving to enhance cooperation in food security, industrial partnerships, research and innovation, developmental cooperation activities, and institutional cooperation.

He explained that the Council of Representatives will work in cooperation and coordination with the Italian Chamber of Deputies to support the positive results of the official visit by developing the legislative system between the two friendly countries across all sectors, enhancing partnership in all vital tracks, and boosting joint economic and investment relations to achieve more developmental projects that benefit both countries and peoples.

He confirmed that the official visits made by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to brotherly and friendly countries would consolidate bilateral partnerships, open wide horizons for joint cooperation, and reinforce the position and role of the Kingdom of Bahrain regionally and internationally, under the leadership of His Majesty the King.
