Manama, September 30 /BNA/ His Excellency Mr. Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam, Speaker of the House of Representatives, affirmed that Bahrain’s advanced positions in human rights and combating human trafficking are the result of the rights and labor system established and guided by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, may God protect and preserve him, with the support and follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him.

He explained that Bahrain’s maintenance of the Tier 1 ranking in the US State Department’s Trafficking in Persons report for the eighth consecutive year reflects fruitful cooperation between the legislative and executive authorities, a deep-rooted societal culture, national efforts, and pioneering institutional work carried out by the competent authorities and the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons.

He also pointed to the legislative authority’s keenness to develop the legal system in combating human trafficking and to monitor the implementation of laws and procedures in Bahrain in this field, which has become today a leading regional and international model, enhancing the international confidence Bahrain enjoys and its distinguished success in consolidating commitment to protecting the rights of labor relationship parties according to a civilized human rights methodology, alongside supporting increased investments and projects, providing a safe environment for living, working, and productivity, and ensuring the elements of stability and development under the rule of law, institutions, justice, and human rights protection.

He confirmed that this international achievement adds to the series of accomplishments and successes Bahrain has achieved amid its comprehensive development march, noting that combating human trafficking is a national constant, a societal value, and an authentic Bahraini culture that always works to consolidate human rights in various fields and sectors at all levels and tracks.

He praised the efforts of the entities that contributed to achieving and maintaining this high international achievement through the work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, Supreme Council of the Judiciary, Public Prosecution, Ministry of Social Development, Ministry of Information, Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Awqaf, Ministry of Labor, National Contact Center, Labor Market Regulatory Authority, and civil society institutions.
