His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, met with his brother His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the brotherly State of Kuwait, to discuss fraternal relations and various aspects of cooperation and joint work, especially in developmental and economic fields, serving the mutual interests of both countries and bringing prosperity and growth to their peoples.
The meeting took place yesterday at Qasr Al-Bayan during His Highness the President’s fraternal visit to Kuwait.
The Emir of Kuwait warmly welcomed His Highness the President at the beginning of the meeting, exchanging friendly talks reflecting the deep and firm fraternal ties between the leaderships and peoples of the two brotherly countries.
The meeting addressed several regional and international issues, foremost among them developments in the Middle East. They affirmed their support for all initiatives and efforts aimed at a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and establishing comprehensive and just peace based on the “two-state solution,” as it is the way to achieve stability in the region in the interest of all its peoples and countries. They stressed the necessity of building on the recently increasing international recognitions of the State of Palestine to realize the aspirations of the Palestinian people towards peace and stability.
They also discussed the path of joint Gulf work, confirming the two countries’ keenness to support everything that enhances the Gulf Cooperation Council’s march, achieving the aspirations of its peoples for development and prosperity.
His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah hosted a lunch banquet honoring His Highness the President and the accompanying delegation.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived earlier yesterday in the brotherly State of Kuwait on a fraternal visit.
His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah was among those who received him and the accompanying delegation upon arrival at the Amiri Airport.
Also present at the reception were His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, and a number of Sheikhs, ministers, and senior officials in Kuwait.
His Highness the President departed Kuwait at the end of his fraternal visit, where His Highness the Crown Prince of Kuwait and a number of Sheikhs, ministers, and senior officials bid him farewell at the Amiri Airport.
The President was accompanied during the visit by a delegation including His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Presidential Affairs; Lieutenant General His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; His Highness Sheikh Diab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Head of the Presidential Court for Developmental Affairs and Martyrs’ Families; His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Head of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor to the President; and a number of ministers and senior officials.
The President and the Emir of Kuwait emphasized the necessity of building on the increasing international recognitions of the State of Palestine to achieve the aspirations of the Palestinian people towards peace and stability.
