The UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his Angolan counterpart João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço witnessed the exchange of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the two countries during a state visit to Angola. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed emphasized that the agreement will bring a qualitative transformation in economic relations, increase trade exchange rates, and open new avenues for joint economic growth, investment, and cooperation. The agreement deepens economic ties by eliminating or reducing customs duties, removing unnecessary trade barriers, expanding service exports access, and generating new investment opportunities across various sectors. Additionally, the two presidents witnessed the signing of several memoranda of understanding, including in artificial intelligence, banking cooperation, and agriculture. Trade volume between the UAE and Angola reached $2.17 billion in non-oil trade in 2024, with a 29.7% growth in the first half of the year, signaling promising prospects for further economic cooperation.
