DP World has unveiled a new 2.6 million square feet yard at Terminal 4 in Jebel Ali Port, enhancing its logistics capabilities in the automotive sector. This expansion provides a capacity of up to 13,000 vehicles, raising the port’s total storage capacity to 75,000 vehicles and strengthening Dubai’s position as a key hub for automotive trade in the region.
Abdullah bin Dmeithan, CEO and Managing Director of DP World GCC, stated that Dubai focuses on enhancing its status as a global automotive trade center, and this expansion allows manufacturers, traders, and logistics providers faster and more reliable connections to key markets in the Middle East, Africa, and other regions.
Shihab Al Jasmi, Senior Vice President of Ports and Terminals at DP World GCC, added that the expansion represents an additional investment aimed at improving customer service, with a larger area, faster service, and reliable berth availability to support the growth of automotive supply chains.
The capacity expansion follows strong growth in vehicle handling volumes; in the first half of 2025, Jebel Ali Port received 545,000 vehicles, a 28% year-on-year increase, with imports accounting for 65% of the total roll-on/roll-off cargo volume, mainly from China, Japan, Thailand, India, and South Korea.
