Dubai: Al Khaleej

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), received Tracy Reynolds, Consul General of Canada in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, to discuss cooperation opportunities in clean energy and digital transformation.

Al Tayer emphasized DEWA’s keenness to strengthen cooperation and exchange best practices with Canadian institutions and companies, especially in sustainability, renewable and clean energy sectors, contributing to enhancing the distinguished relations between the UAE and Canada and elevating them to higher levels.

The meeting addressed expanding Dubai’s portfolio in clean energy, where Al Tayer reviewed several DEWA projects, most notably the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the largest single-site solar park in the world, which is a key pillar of Dubai’s Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and Dubai’s Carbon Neutrality Strategy 2050. It supports Dubai’s ambitious goal to provide 100% of its energy capacity from clean sources by 2050 and enhances its position as a global hub for renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure.

Al Tayer also highlighted DEWA’s investments in the latest Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, including artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, and robotics, which contribute to reshaping traditional operational models, accelerating Dubai’s digital transformation journey, and consolidating its position as a global center for creativity and innovation.
