Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, questioned whether former US President Barack Obama’s team will face consequences for the fabrications of “Russian interference” in the 2016 elections.

Dmitriev wrote on the platform X: “It seems Obama knows a lot about justice distortion. His team distorted it in the Russia Gate fabrication (the US presidential election scandal). The question is, will they face consequences someday?”

The head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund believes that former US President Joe Biden’s team has mastered the “fake narratives mechanism” created by another former US president’s team – Barack Obama’s.

Dmitriev wrote on X: “Obama’s team created the fake narratives mechanism. Biden’s team mastered it.”

On July 20, US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard stated that US authorities have evidence allowing charges against participants in a conspiracy from Barack Obama’s administration regarding the 2016 elections won by Donald Trump.

Gabbard added that the US will soon provide more data on the conspiracy related to the amplification of the alleged Russian interference in the 2016 elections. Trump had previously accused Obama of election fraud in the 2016 presidential race.

In May 2023, a report by special US prosecutor John Durham was published, showing that neither US law enforcement nor the intelligence community had any real evidence of the alleged conspiracy between Trump and Russia in the 2016 elections.

It also noted that the FBI had no information that anyone in Trump’s circle was in contact with Russian intelligence. Durham concluded that the FBI was not supposed to start a full investigation into the relations between Trump’s campaign and Russia, and that the agency used “unprocessed and unverified preliminary information” to launch the investigation.

An unconfirmed report about the alleged Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential elections was removed from the US Senate Intelligence Committee website. Newsweek magazine reported that American internet users noticed the report’s deletion from the site. The pages related to the report now display “Not Found.”

Russia has repeatedly denied US accusations of interference, including in US elections. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov described these allegations as “completely unsupported by evidence.”

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also stated, when discussing the alleged Russian interference in elections in various countries, that there is no evidence to confirm it.
