The United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Palestine has called on the international community to take concrete measures to stop the destruction, killing, and unjustified displacement, and to hold Israel accountable for its ongoing serious violations in Gaza.

The UN office stated in a press release that “Israel must immediately cease all attacks on hospitals in the Gaza Strip and ensure the provision of emergency medical care to all injured Palestinians.”

The statement emphasized that “Israeli military attacks on hospitals and their surroundings leave sick and injured civilians without access to life-saving care in Gaza City, where the escalation of attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure results in countless casualties.”

Since September 16, the office has recorded more than 17 Israeli attacks on health facilities or their vicinity across Gaza City, also noting direct strikes on Al-Rantisi Children’s Hospital in the northwest, the Medical Relief Center in the city center, strikes near Al-Shifa Medical Complex in western Gaza City, Al-Ahli Hospital in the eastern part, as well as other recorded incidents.

Israeli occupation forces continue their air assaults and artillery shelling on various areas in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the death and injury of tens of thousands of Palestinians, mostly children and women, in addition to widespread destruction of residential buildings and direct targeting of humanitarian aid seekers.
