Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received Mo Dingyeh, Chairman of the China National Chemical Engineering Group (CNCEC), in the presence of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and Engineer Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. The meeting was also attended by Wu Xiangong, Vice Chairman of CNCEC, and Guo Jueyi, Chairman of TCC.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, official spokesperson for the Presidency, stated that President El-Sisi praised the strong and distinguished Egyptian-Chinese relations at the start of the meeting, emphasizing Egypt’s keenness to strengthen economic and investment cooperation with China and Chinese companies in various fields of mutual interest.
In this context, the President expressed his appreciation for the ongoing cooperation with CNCEC, affirming that the Egyptian state will work to facilitate the implementation procedures of the company’s soda ash production project in Egypt.
The spokesperson added that the CNCEC Chairman reviewed the company’s expertise in petrochemicals, expressing his company’s aspiration to cooperate with the Egyptian government to expand its investments in Egypt. President El-Sisi valued this, stressing that the state provides many incentives and advantages to foreign and local investors and works to attract more foreign direct investment.
President El-Sisi confirmed that the sodium carbonate (soda ash) project is a strategic project of great importance to Egypt, as it plays a pivotal role in supporting self-sufficiency of local industries and reducing imports. He expressed confidence in TCC’s ability to implement this project efficiently according to the best global standards.
