The Directorate of Education in New Valley Governorate has developed a comprehensive plan to complete all preparations for the upcoming school year. This includes the construction and upgrading of 35 schools comprising 395 classrooms with a capacity of 15,800 students at a total cost of 350 million Egyptian pounds. The plan also involves implementing 19 construction projects totaling 244 classrooms costing approximately 435 million pounds, including six new schools scheduled to open this year. Additionally, specialized schools such as technological and Japanese schools are being developed as part of the state’s efforts to enhance education quality and reduce classroom overcrowding. Environmental and community initiatives like the ‘Green Schools’ project have been launched, including planting 160 lawns and 20,000 palm trees across schools and government facilities to create green spaces that provide economic and environmental benefits.
Preparations also include the construction of a STEM school for gifted students, expected to open in the 2026/2027 academic year, with facilities including classrooms, separate dormitories for boys and girls, laboratories, dining halls, sports fields, and multipurpose halls. The education sector is committed to providing a clean, safe, and stimulating learning environment, supporting students throughout the school day, and fostering a disciplined educational system.
