Mohamed Rabie El-Diahi, an international relations expert, affirmed that the success of the Sharm El-Sheikh negotiations and the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel represents a historic step reflecting the pivotal role Egypt, led by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, plays in defusing regional crises.

El-Diahi pointed out that Egypt’s moves since the first moment of the war were carefully planned, ranging from a humanitarian track ensuring aid entry into Gaza, to a political negotiation track leading the conflicting parties to the dialogue table under an exclusively Egyptian umbrella.

He explained that Egypt’s ability to combine both humanitarian and political aspects simultaneously reflects the depth of its strategic vision and responsibility towards regional security. He added that the Egyptian sovereign bodies played a decisive role in managing negotiations and coordinating efforts to ensure the implementation of humanitarian clauses, such as stopping aggression, prisoner exchanges, and the flow of aid to civilians.

El-Diahi confirmed that this achievement affirms Egypt’s international standing and its role as a fundamental pillar of stability in the Middle East, noting that the Egyptian leadership has proven that rationality and diplomacy capable of balancing regional and humanitarian security are the way to achieve peace.
