Khalid Essa, captain of our national team, dedicated the valuable victory achieved by the “White” over their Omani counterpart with two goals to one, in the Asian playoff qualifying for the 2026 World Cup finals, to the fans who never stopped supporting and cheering. He confirmed that the win is an important step towards reaching the World Cup and achieving the dream, but it is not the end of the journey. He mentioned that the mission is still difficult, and there is a decisive match against the Qatar national team that requires doubling effort, focus, giving, and stronger support.
Khalid Essa added: “We want to see in the next match a crowd twice as large as what we saw against Oman, because your presence makes a difference and gives us strength and determination. Your solidarity with us is the secret of our strength, and with your support, we can give our best and continue the path towards achieving the nation’s dream of qualifying for the World Cup.”
The team captain, who won the best player award in the match against Oman, confirmed that the match against Qatar will not be easy, and anything can happen during 90 minutes, saying: “We may fall behind by a goal as happened against Oman, but we trust that our fans will be stronger and will not stop supporting us, because your cheering gives us stability in the toughest moments and pushes us to come back and win.”
Khalid Essa thanked all the fans who attended in Doha and stood behind the team throughout the match, and those who followed and supported from inside and outside the country. He added: “By solidarity, doubling effort, and believing in our abilities, we are capable, God willing, of achieving the nation’s dream, and we promise you that we will fight until the last moment to make the Emirati people happy and repeat the achievement of reaching the World Cup.”
