Levent said in an interview with Fox News in response to a question about the possibility of Hamas withdrawing from the plan: “It is a red line that the President of the United States will have to set, and I am confident he will.”

On the ground, Israeli tanks yesterday closed the main road leading to Gaza City, preventing those who left the city from returning. Residents said the tanks set up sand barriers on the main road in the southern part of the city, noting that the move to prevent people from returning increased their determination to stay.

Hamas members were left isolated in Gaza City itself amid ongoing large-scale Israeli military operations. The army will subject those leaving to security screening, considering anyone remaining in the city as “terrorists or supporters of terrorism.”

Meanwhile, the Gaza Health Ministry said yesterday that 77 people were killed and 222 others injured in the Gaza Strip during the past 24 hours due to continuous Israeli airstrikes and shelling.

The ministry added in a statement that the total casualties since October 7, 2023, have risen to 66,225 deaths and 168,938 injuries, noting that a number of victims remain under the rubble and on the streets due to the inability of ambulance and civil defense crews to reach them. The ministry pointed out that the period from March 18 until now has seen 13,357 deaths and 56,897 injuries.

In a separate statement, the ministry confirmed that medical teams continue to provide services in the remaining operational hospitals inside Gaza City, amid severe risks surrounding them, adding that access to Al-Shifa Medical Complex, Al-Quds Hospital, and Al-Hilou Hospital has become extremely dangerous. The ministry called on international bodies to urgently intervene to protect health institutions and medical teams and ensure their safe access to hospitals.
