Today’s episode of the program “Matrouh for Discussion,” broadcast on Al-Qahira News channel and presented by journalist Marina Al-Masri, discussed the escalation of Israeli violations in the occupied West Bank amid increasing international condemnations and challenges.
The episode pointed to the Israeli occupation government’s insistence on proceeding with the construction of thousands of new settlement units inside the West Bank. Recently, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich called for accelerating the implementation of the settlement expansion plan, demanding the annexation of Palestinian lands in response to several countries announcing their intention to recognize the State of Palestine.
In contrast, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights confirmed that this plan constitutes a clear violation of international law and threatens Palestinians with the risk of forced eviction, considering it a “war crime” that hinders the prospects of achieving the two-state solution.
The episode concluded with a key question: How does Israel plan to eliminate the dream of establishing the Palestinian state?
