Today, government and ministerial meetings will be moved to a fortified and secret location following the assassination of the head of the Houthi government.
Israel’s private Channel 12 reported: “Government and ministerial meetings today will be moved to a fortified and secret location after the assassination of the head of the Houthi government.”
It added that ministers were notified shortly before the meetings convened.
On Thursday, Israel carried out an attack on Sanaa. The official Israeli Broadcasting Corporation, the army radio, and Hebrew media said it targeted “prominent leaders in the Houthi group,” without naming specific individuals.
The Houthis have launched attacks on the occupation using rockets and drones, as well as targeting ships linked to or heading towards it, in response to the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip.
Today, the occupation government held a session to discuss several issues including increasing the budget allocated to the security establishment, according to the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.
Later, the “Cabinet” will meet to “discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip and respond to the intention of countries around the world to recognize a Palestinian state, in addition to the situation in Lebanon and Syria,” according to the same source.
The newspaper added: “However, the initial response from Hamas to the mediators’ proposal and the partial deal will not be discussed – because Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Cabinet have already decided that only a comprehensive deal for the release of 48 hostages still held by Hamas will be discussed,” under conditions that impose surrender on the Palestinians.
On August 18, Hamas agreed to a mediators’ proposal for a partial deal to cease fire and exchange prisoners in Gaza, but the occupation has not responded yet.
