The government of the United Arab Emirates participated in the 21st meeting of Ministers and Heads of Civil Service Authorities in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, hosted by Kuwait and chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs of Kuwait, Shuraida Abdullah Al-Maawashirji, with the presence of the GCC Secretary-General, Jassim Al-Budaiwi.
The UAE delegation was headed by the Minister of State for Government Development and Future and Chairperson of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi. The delegation included the Director General of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, Faisal bin Butti Al Muhairi, and the Executive Director of the Support Services Sector at the Authority, Ibrahim Fikri.
Ohood Al Roumi emphasized that the meeting of Ministers and Heads of Civil Service Authorities in the GCC countries represents an annual platform for sharing visions, exchanging ideas, and enhancing joint Gulf cooperation in developing government talents and specialized human resources equipped with skills and expertise capable of actively participating in building the governments of the future. She stressed the UAE government’s keenness to actively participate in strengthening Gulf partnership aimed at establishing an advanced talent system and supporting government cadres to participate in shaping the future.
She stated that the outcomes and discussions of the meeting will contribute to supporting the implementation of the directives of the GCC leadership to enhance the system of talents and government human resources, enabling them to keep pace with rapid global changes, and providing them with capabilities and solutions to enhance an attractive, supportive, and enabling government work environment for talents, and support initiatives to raise productivity and improve quality of life.
The meeting discussed enhancing joint work among GCC governments in developing the system of talents and government human resources, and mechanisms to benefit from advanced Gulf experiences in human resource management and nurturing talents and minds.
The attendees also addressed current and future challenges facing civil service authorities, the best solutions to confront them, enhancing governments’ capabilities to establish attractive and motivating government work environments for talents and human capital, and discussed the latest global developments in this field.
