British Lord Raminder Ranger, a member of the UK House of Lords, expressed his frustration over the high prices of food and drinks at Antalya Airport in Turkey.

Lord Ranger shared on his X account a price list from a fast-food chain at the airport, noting that the prices are higher than those in the United Kingdom.

He wrote: “Those who complain about the cost of living in Britain should visit Antalya Airport in Turkey, where even a simple hamburger sandwich seems like a luxury,” listing some examples from the menu he posted, which included a hamburger meal with fries and a beer priced at 27.9 euros, a grilled sausage meal with beer at 24.9 euros, and a nachos meal with beer at 19.9 euros.

Ranger’s post, which tagged Turkish Airlines, sparked controversy over the high prices at Antalya Airport, with social media users expressing anger at these prices and describing them as “theft,” questioning why Antalya and Istanbul airports are ranked among the most expensive in the world.

It is worth noting that the issue of high prices at Turkish airports frequently resurfaces, despite data from the Turkish Statistical Institute indicating that the inflation rate dropped to 33.52% in July.

Lord Ranger, full name Raminder Singh Ranger, is a businessman of Indian origin and a politician in the British Conservative Party, founder of the multinational company “Sun Mark.”

He has been a member of the House of Lords, the UK’s upper chamber responsible for drafting, studying, and passing laws, since 2019.
