Dr. Nasser El-Gezawy, President of Benha University, announced the efforts of the Community Service and Environmental Development sector at the university during the recent period as part of the “Bidaya” initiative for building the Egyptian human, launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The university organized 46 free medical convoys, during which 8,851 cases were examined and treated for free, with some cases referred to the university hospital and eyeglasses provided for students of schools and Al-Azhar institutes.

Regarding family guidance convoys, the faculties of Nursing and Physical Therapy organized 9 awareness convoys benefiting 744 citizens across various villages in the governorate. Additionally, 13 veterinary convoys were held in the villages of the governorate’s centers, providing veterinary services to 27,389 heads of livestock, especially for 1,279 farmers. The Faculty of Agriculture organized 4 agricultural convoys in the villages of Benha center to provide agricultural awareness and guidance to 91 farmers.

Sports convoys were also organized through 11 sports convoys in villages and youth centers benefiting 1,143 young men and women. Awareness and educational convoys were organized by the faculties of Science, Commerce, Arts, and Education, with 16 convoys benefiting 1,593 men, women, and youth across the villages and cities of the governorate.

Dr. El-Gezawy added that the university also organized 12 handicraft workshops through the faculties of Applied Arts and Specific Education, benefiting 1,096 participants.

He pointed out that 7,546 learners were literate during the 2024/2025 academic year according to reports from the General Authority for Adult Education. Five exhibitions for clothing, products, and foodstuffs were organized, and cooperation protocols were signed with 30 educational, economic, and community institutions.

Dr. Nasser El-Gezawy confirmed that Benha University continues to organize many multidisciplinary convoys and activities aimed at community development within the presidential initiative “Bidaya” in villages and centers to contribute to improving quality of life and ensuring citizens’ health as a fundamental pillar of sustainable development.

He also emphasized the university’s pursuit of integration between education and community service as a key to achieving comprehensive development within the framework of implementing the state’s vision for sustainable development “Egypt Vision 2030.”
