Mansoura University has begun implementing its first specialized training courses aimed at qualifying and enhancing the efficiency of administrative security personnel in the education sector and university hospitals and medical centers. The training takes place at the Faculty of Commerce over three consecutive days as part of a comprehensive strategic program launched by the university to develop the security and service system and improve the quality of educational and medical services provided to the community.
The course aims to strengthen the capabilities of administrative security personnel to perform their duties within the university campus and medical facilities according to comprehensive professional and humane standards. Training covers adherence to discipline during service, patrolling facilities, courteous interaction with students, faculty members, administrative staff, the public, and especially patients in university hospitals. The program also addresses crisis and risk management, communication and etiquette skills, daily work documentation, adherence to the official uniform, and integrates security, legal, psychological, and digital transformation aspects in task performance.
This course was implemented following recommendations from the university council meeting last month, chaired by Dr. Sherif Khater, the university president, who emphasized the necessity of specialized training programs for administrative security personnel in both educational and medical sectors and activating the role of training centers in serving the university work system.
The course was prepared by a specialized committee headed by Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, including directors of training centers, the university secretary-general, the executive director of university hospitals, and the university security director to ensure role integration and coordination among various sectors in preparing a comprehensive training program that meets the university’s security and organizational needs.
Dr. Sherif Khater stated that this training course represents a qualitative leap in the university’s strategy toward qualifying human cadres, clarifying that professionalism in security performance means combining discipline with the ability to communicate courteously with all university community groups, reflecting Mansoura University’s civilized image.
He added that the university seeks for administrative security personnel to be ambassadors of their institution in all their dealings and to demonstrate the highest levels of professionalism both on the educational campus and inside university hospitals, as this directly affects the satisfaction of students, patients, and visitors.
He also stressed that developing administrative security skills is not limited to organizational aspects but also includes training on scientific crisis management and handling emergency situations with discipline and high professionalism.
The training program included three daily lectures: Major General Mohamed Allam gave a lecture titled “Developing Security Performance and Ethics of Security Personnel,” followed by Dr. Amira Kamal’s lecture on “Security Communication Skills,” and Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Ghoneim concluded the program with a lecture on “Crisis and Risk Management.”
At the end of the first course activities, Dr. Ahmed Matawa, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, handed certificates of appreciation to the participating trainers in recognition of their distinguished efforts in the success of the training program, emphasizing that institutional advancement is achieved only through developing human cadres and empowering them with knowledge and skills.
The training program is scheduled to be implemented six consecutive times during August and September 2025 to ensure the participation of all administrative security personnel in both educational and medical sectors, with full attendance at all activities as a basic condition for passing the course. The university also emphasized obligating contracted companies to subject their security personnel to the same training to ensure the integration of the security system within the university and its educational and medical facilities.
