In the presence of the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Sami Samirate, the Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners of the Authority, Lara Al-Khatib, honored the former CEO of the Authority, Bassam Al-Sarhan, during an honoring ceremony held the day before yesterday.

The ceremony was attended by the Secretary-General of the Authority, Dr. Nael Al-Adwan, Board Member Ayman Al-Draisah, CEO of Zain Company Fahd Al-Jasim, CEO of Orange Company Philip Mansour, and CEO of Umniah Company Faisal Al-Jalahmeh.

During the ceremony, Al-Khatib presented the former CEO with a commemorative shield in appreciation of his efforts and the significant achievements accomplished during his tenure as Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Authority, including the launch of 5G services, satellite internet services, the number portability project, and his chairmanship of the Euro-Mediterranean Group of Telecommunications Regulators.

Al-Khatib also praised the achievements made by the Authority in Jordan’s telecommunications sector, which reflected on the Authority’s leading position regionally and internationally. In previous years, the Authority recorded a distinguished international presence in several global forums that encouraged investors in the sector and strengthened global partnerships for developing infrastructure in Jordan.
