Today, 3 candidates submitted their nomination papers to the General Election Committee at Shebin El-Kom Court in Menoufia Governorate for the parliamentary elections in 6 electoral districts across the governorate, on the second day of the nomination period. The total number of candidates who have applied so far reached 78 across all districts, amid heavy security presence by the Menoufia Security Directorate.

The area around Shebin El-Kom Court witnessed a large crowd of candidates submitting their nomination papers on the first day, aiming to be among the first on the candidates’ list, with a strong security presence under the supervision of Major General Alaa El-Gaher, Director of Menoufia Security, and Major General Ahmed Khairy, Director of Criminal Investigations.

On Wednesday, the nomination period for parliamentary membership opened for eight days and will close on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. Applications are accepted daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, except on the last day when it closes at 2:00 PM.

Medical tests and analyses required for the nomination process began alongside the voter invitations conducted last Saturday. The election authority designated certain hospitals and laboratories affiliated with the Ministry of Health, specifying 129 medical centers and 26 laboratories to conduct medical examinations for parliamentary candidates.

The authority, by Decision No. 41 of 2025, confirmed that candidates must undergo medical examinations and necessary tests. The hospitals and laboratories are distributed as follows:

    • 15 centers in Cairo
    • 10 centers in Alexandria
    • 9 centers in Giza and Sharqia governorates
    • 7 medical centers in Dakahlia, Kafr El-Sheikh, and Menoufia
    • 6 medical centers in Qalyubia, Beheira, Minya, and Assiut
    • 5 centers in Sharqia and Beni Suef
    • 4 medical centers in Damietta, Qena, and Sohag
    • 3 medical centers in Red Sea, Matrouh, and Luxor
    • 2 centers in New Valley and Fayoum
    • One medical center in Port Said, Suez, Ismailia, North Sinai, South Sinai, and Aswan
