Tripoli, September 30, 2025 (WAL) – Masoud Suleiman, the acting head of the National Oil Corporation, held a meeting in the capital Tripoli on Monday with Jeremy Brent, the Chargé d’Affaires at the US Embassy in Libya.
The meeting discussed prospects for cooperation between Libya and the United States in the energy sector, as well as ways to support the National Oil Corporation in implementing its plans to develop the oil and gas sector and increase production, positively impacting the national economy.
Brent said in a tweet posted by the US Embassy’s official account on the “X” platform: “During the meeting, we discussed ways to enhance trade cooperation between the United States and Libya to help the National Oil Corporation advance its plans to develop Libya’s energy sector and increase oil and gas production.”
The American diplomat added: “Having a strong National Oil Corporation is a key element to achieving more prosperity and economic opportunities for the Libyan people and its international partners.”
