A report revealed that Saudi club Al-Ittihad Jeddah is interested in appointing Spanish Barcelona legend Xavi as the team’s coach after the dismissal of French coach Laurent Blanc.

Xavi has not held any position since his dismissal from Barcelona on May 24, 2024, but now has the opportunity to coach former Real Madrid star Karim Benzema, Al-Ittihad’s striker.

According to the report, Al-Ittihad is also considering other options such as Italian Luciano Spalletti or Portuguese Sergio Conceição. Xavi’s first coaching opportunity after retiring from playing in the Gulf was with Qatar’s Al Sadd, where he built his reputation that qualified him to coach Barcelona, notably promoting young star Lamine Yamal to the first team.

The offer from Al-Ittihad seems more logical than waiting for the possibility of Manchester United appointing him if Portuguese coach Rúben Amorim is dismissed.

According to the report, Al-Ittihad will soon present its new coach. Will the tiki-taka star end up coaching Ballon d’Or winner Benzema?
