The Government Media Office in Gaza issued a directive statement early Thursday regarding movement and travel coinciding with the announcement of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

The government office stated: “In light of the circulating information about the ceasefire decision, we emphasize to our Palestinian people the necessity of exercising the utmost caution and vigilance during their movements and not to fully trust until an official clear and confirmed announcement is issued by the competent Palestinian authorities.”

It urged the Palestinian public not to move along Al-Rashid and Salah al-Din streets from south to north or north to south or in their vicinity, except after official instructions ensuring citizens’ safety are issued, anticipating any breaches, treacherous acts, or targeting that the Israeli occupation might carry out at zero hour.

The office confirmed that preserving lives is a national priority and a collective responsibility, and that the awareness of the Palestinian people and their constant keenness to adhere to official instructions is the safety valve in this sensitive phase.

On the 734th day of the war on Gaza, U.S. President Donald Trump, mediators, and Hamas announced reaching an agreement to end the war in the Strip.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres welcomed the ceasefire announcement in Gaza and called for full adherence to the agreement.

He stated that all detainees must be released humanely, a permanent ceasefire ensured, fighting stopped completely, and that humanitarian supplies and essential commercial goods enter Gaza immediately and without obstacles.

Meanwhile, the American network ABC quoted a White House official saying that the Israeli withdrawal towards the Gaza border line will take less than 24 hours.

CNN also quoted a White House official saying the Trump administration is evaluating starting the release of detainees in Gaza next Monday with a possibility of accelerating the timeline for implementing the agreement.

It is noteworthy that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed he will hold a government meeting on Thursday to ratify the announced agreement, which would end the war in Gaza.

In this context, the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported that the list of Palestinian prisoners’ names was sent to Netanyahu for approval and then to be returned to Hamas, noting that the movement confirmed it had handed over the prisoner lists according to the agreed criteria within the framework of the agreement.
