US President Donald Trump signed an executive order reducing tariffs on Japanese cars to 15%, implementing a trade agreement between Washington and Tokyo.
Under the executive order, tariffs on Japanese cars will be set at 15% instead of the current 27.5%, and a 15% cap will be applied to tariffs on many other Japanese goods.
These new rates will come into effect within seven days of the decision’s publication in the US Federal Register.
