Several Arab countries welcomed the talks held in Alaska between Russian President Vladimir Putin and American President Donald Trump, affirming that constructive dialogue and diplomacy are the best ways to bridge differences and resolve conflicts.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its support for all diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the Russian-Ukrainian crisis peacefully and achieving peace between the two friendly countries.

The Kingdom welcomed the Alaska summit that brought together US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, confirming its continuous support for diplomatic dialogue as a means to resolve international disputes.

The United Arab Emirates also welcomed the summit held in Alaska between Trump and Putin, appreciating Trump’s efforts to enhance dialogue and find peaceful solutions, considering the summit an important step towards strengthening international security and peace and consolidating trust in Europe.

The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the Alaska summit, with spokesperson Sufyan Al-Qudah stating that the Kingdom welcomes this summit as an effective step to end the Russian-Ukrainian war, bring viewpoints closer, and resolve disputes through peaceful means.

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with US President Donald Trump on Friday evening at a military base in Anchorage, Alaska.

The leaders discussed several issues of mutual interest during talks lasting about three hours, primarily the Ukrainian crisis and bilateral relations.

Putin emphasized after the talks the need to address the root causes of the Ukrainian crisis to achieve a long-term settlement and highlighted the importance of resuming cooperation between Russia and the United States.

Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev stated that the Putin-Trump summit in Alaska proves that negotiations are possible without preconditions, coinciding with the ongoing special military operation.

He added that the initial results of the summit include restoring a full mechanism for high-level meetings between Moscow and Washington without warnings or threats, considering the most important point the mutual confirmation that the responsibility for achieving future results in negotiations to end hostilities lies with Kyiv and Europe.

Meanwhile, Trump reiterated on Saturday via a post on the Truth Social platform that the meeting with President Putin went very well, and that he communicated with Volodymyr Zelensky, several European leaders, and NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, agreeing that the best way to end the crisis in Ukraine is to reach a comprehensive peace agreement, not just a ceasefire.
