Trump threatens sanctions on Russia; Putin invites Zelensky to a meeting in Moscow
US President Donald Trump hinted at imposing new sanctions on Russia if it does not respond to his efforts to reach a settlement in Ukraine, while Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his readiness to meet his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky but said the meeting ‘will not yield results.’
Trump told reporters at the White House on Wednesday while receiving Polish President Karol Nawrocki, ‘Whatever his (Putin’s) decision is, we will either be happy or unhappy.’ He added, ‘If we are unhappy with it, you will see things happen.’
