US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he will host the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia in an official ceremony to sign a peace agreement at the White House on Friday. Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform: “I look forward to hosting Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the White House tomorrow for a historic peace summit.” He noted that the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan has claimed thousands of lives and that previous attempts to stop the war had failed, emphasizing that his administration has worked with both sides for a long time to reach this agreement. “Tomorrow, President Aliyev and Prime Minister Pashinyan will join me at the White House for the official signing ceremony of the peace agreement.

The United States will also sign bilateral agreements with both countries to enhance joint economic opportunities, enabling us to unlock the full potential of the South Caucasus region,” Trump added. He expressed pride in the brave leaders for doing what is right for the great peoples of Armenia and Azerbaijan, calling it a historic day for Armenia, Azerbaijan, the United States, and the entire world.
