US President Donald Trump warned from aboard Air Force One on Sunday that Russia could face the deployment of long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine if Moscow does not end the war in Ukraine soon.

Trump told reporters on the presidential plane en route to Israel: “I might say to them, ‘Look: if this war doesn’t end, I will send them Tomahawk missiles.'”

He added, “The Tomahawk is an amazing weapon, a very offensive weapon. Frankly, Russia doesn’t need that.”

He continued: “I might tell them that if the war doesn’t end – we might do it – we might not, but we might. I think it’s appropriate to raise the issue.”

Trump’s remarks came after he spoke earlier Sunday by phone with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Zelenskyy said on Sunday that Kyiv would only use Tomahawk missiles for military objectives, not to attack civilians in Russia.

Zelenskyy’s comments came on the “Sunday Briefing” program on Fox News as US President Donald Trump considers whether to supply Kyiv with US-made missiles.

Earlier, the Ukrainian president said he had spoken with President Trump for the second time in two days to discuss strengthening Kyiv’s air defense, its resilience, and long-range capabilities. He also requested air defense systems and missiles from French President Emmanuel Macron.

Zelenskyy added on the X platform: “We also discussed many details related to the energy sector. President Trump is well informed about everything happening. We agreed to continue our dialogue, and our teams are preparing.”

Meanwhile, the Kremlin said on Sunday that Russia is deeply concerned about the possibility of the US supplying Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles, warning that the war has reached a dramatic moment with escalation from all sides.

Recently, Russia has intensified its nighttime drone and missile attacks in Ukraine, particularly targeting energy facilities as winter approaches.
