Former US President Donald Trump boasted about the latest gold decorations added to the Oval Office in the White House, stating that world leaders are “amazed” when they enter and see this decoration.

In a post on the “Truth Social” platform, Trump wrote: “Some of the finest 24-carat gold was used in the Oval Office and the Cabinet meeting room in the White House.”

He added: “Foreign leaders, and everyone who enters, are amazed when they see the quality and beauty. The best Oval Office ever, in terms of success and appearance!!!” The post was signed “President DJT.”

Trump attached a silent video showing gilded wall panels placed and ready to be installed inside the White House.

Trump recently spoke about the “golden renovations” he is making to the White House, but internet users suspected that the decoration team did not use real gold, but cheap wall panels from Home Depot sprayed with gold-colored paint.

In an interview with Fox News last March, Trump said: “Many have tried to create gold paint that looks like real gold, and no one has ever succeeded. No paint can imitate gold.”

Trump is known for his passion for gold, as his homes and private planes are decorated with it, and he is accustomed to receiving golden gifts from foreign leaders. Jokes have circulated for decades about him owning gold-plated toilets in his homes.

Trump brought this obsession with him to Washington upon his return to the White House in 2025 and has visibly increased these displays.

Presidents usually add their personal touches to the White House decor, but Trump enlisted the decorator who adorned his private Mar-a-Lago resort to reshape the presidential palace to suit his taste.

White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt told the newspaper: “It is the golden office of the golden age.”
