US President Donald Trump expressed his happiness with the agreement to end the war in Gaza.
During a press conference, he said he was very pleased with the deal, noting that the agreement was welcomed and celebrated by many countries.
He pointed to the release of detainees next Monday, saying: “Hamas will release the hostages, some of whom are in difficult places, underground, very difficult places where few know where they are, and 28 bodies are also being recovered.”
He mentioned that his upcoming tour in the region will include a speech before the Israeli Knesset and a visit to Egypt, noting the establishment of a peace council he will chair to ensure things go smoothly.
He confirmed that Gaza will be rebuilt, pointing out that there are many very wealthy countries there, and it will require a small part of their wealth to do so, and he believes they want to do it.
He praised the role played by many countries, adding: “Egypt played a great role and all the countries, Indonesia was also wonderful, Jordan, all those countries, everyone wanted this deal.”
