On the 734th day of the genocide war against the Palestinian people, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Hamas have signed the first phase of his plan to stop the war on Gaza.

He confirmed that “this means all hostages will be released very soon,” and that Israel will withdraw its forces to an agreed line as initial steps toward a strong and lasting peace.

Israel’s Channel 12 cited Israeli officials saying the agreement will be signed on Thursday, with the first release of detainees expected on either Saturday or Sunday.

Earlier, Trump referred to a possible imminent agreement on Gaza resulting from ongoing negotiations in the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh, while Washington prepares a speech for Trump about the anticipated deal.

Sources told Al Jazeera that a Gaza agreement is in its final drafting stages after overcoming all major obstacles, with mediators receiving positive responses from both the Palestinian and Israeli delegations regarding the first phase of the U.S. plan to stop the war.

In the same context, the French Press Agency reported that Washington is preparing a speech text that Trump is expected to deliver to announce the Gaza agreement.
