U.S. President Donald Trump said on Saturday that his administration has found a way to pay military salaries during the federal government shutdown, noting that he directed Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to do so.
Trump added in a post on Truth Social: “I am exercising my authority as Commander-in-Chief by directing Secretary of War Pete Hegseth to use all available funds to pay our troops on October 15.”
He continued: “We have identified the necessary funds to do so, and Secretary Hegseth will use them to pay our troops.”
