US President Donald Trump announced that the Sharm El-Sheikh ceasefire agreement in Gaza represents “a great deal for Israel, Arabs, Muslims, and the entire world.”

Trump confirmed that the agreement marks a decisive step towards ending the war and beginning a new phase of reconstruction and peace in the Middle East, in statements made from Washington.

He said the agreement is “a historic step towards a safer and more stable Middle East,” adding that the world will witness on Monday the start of a new phase of hope and peace.

He pointed out that efforts are not limited to neighborhoods only but also include recovering about 28 bodies from underground in Gaza, describing the operation as “difficult and horrific,” but ongoing “with full seriousness and participation of multiple parties.”

The US president added: “Gaza will be rebuilt, and wealthy countries have expressed their readiness to participate in the reconstruction process. A peace council will also be established, and I have been asked to be its honorary chairman.”

He explained that the agreement enjoys broad international support, confirming that Russian President Vladimir Putin strongly supported the agreement, and that the international community “is tired of fighting and wants to end the destruction and suffering.”

Trump noted that Hamas lost about 58,000 fighters during the war, considering that “the time has come for peace, not confrontation,” adding: “This deal is good for everyone… Israelis, Arabs, and the entire world.”

He revealed that he intends to visit Israel soon to deliver a speech before the Israeli Knesset, and will also visit Egypt to participate in events related to the reconstruction plan, explaining that a number of regional and international leaders will attend those meetings.

Trump confirmed that peace will not be limited to Gaza only but will include the entire Middle East region, adding: “I believe this agreement will hold because everyone is tired of war and wants to move towards a better future.”

The US president announced that the Sharm El-Sheikh ceasefire agreement in Gaza represents “the most important peace deal ever reached,” confirming that the next phase of the plan is progressing with broad consensus among the concerned parties.

He pointed out that the agreement includes the return of prisoners, explaining that next Monday will be a very great day when the hostages return home, referring to the start of implementing the humanitarian clause of the deal.

Trump added that a number of international leaders will attend the signing ceremony of the final Sharm El-Sheikh agreement on Gaza, explaining that the agreement “lays the foundation for a new phase of stability in the region” and sets the basis for reconstruction efforts and restoring life to the Gaza Strip.

He stressed that work is ongoing to ensure the ceasefire holds, confirming that the United States is making intensive efforts with all parties “to turn it into a lasting peace.”
