The dollar declined in early trading in Asian markets today, giving up the gains it made in the previous session. The dollar index, which measures the performance of the US currency against six major currencies, fell by 0.3% to 98.187 points. The US dollar had recorded its largest daily gain in four weeks yesterday before facing new pressures. Among other currencies, the euro rose by 0.2% to 1.1650 dollars, the British pound remained steady at 1.3483 dollars, the dollar climbed 0.4% against the Japanese yen to 147.18 yen, and the Australian dollar increased by 0.15% to 0.64915 US dollars.
