The match between Qatar’s Al-Duhail and Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahli Jeddah ended in an exciting 2-2 draw at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium, during the second round of the group stage in the 2025-2026 AFC Champions Elite League.
Al-Duhail opened the scoring through their left winger Edmilson in the 25th minute, before Al-Ahli Jeddah equalized thanks to Matheus Gonçalves, who recently joined the team.
Mahrez managed to end the first half with Al-Ahli leading by scoring in the 47th minute.
Al-Duhail did not wait long to respond; their striker Krzysztof Piątek equalized in the 48th minute of the second half, despite Al-Ahli’s pressure to secure the victory, the match ended in a draw.
Al-Ahli Jeddah’s points rose to 4, placing them second after winning their first round match against Uzbekistan’s Nasaf 4-2, while Al-Duhail earned just one point after losing to Al-Hilal 2-1 in the first round.
The match was attended by Ousmane Dembélé, the French national team star and Ballon d’Or winner, who is currently in Doha, Qatar at the Aspetar Center recovering from a recent muscle injury.
