On Monday evening, US President Donald Trump announced his plan to stop the war in the Gaza Strip, which was supported by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Western reports revealed details of a plan prepared by former British Prime Minister Tony Blair to manage Gaza during a transitional period.

The detailed 21-page document disclosed the international transitional authority that will govern Gaza, consisting of 7 to 10 members.

According to the text, this authority will act as the “supreme political and legal authority in Gaza during the transitional period, under a mandate from the United Nations Security Council.”

The chairman of the council or authority will lead its work. The authority will include a qualified Palestinian representative, preferably from the business or security sectors, as well as a senior UN official, such as Sigrid Kaag.

The authority includes prominent international figures, experts in executive and financial fields (such as Mark Regev, Naguib Sawiris, and possibly Arie Lichtstone). It will also include prominent representatives with regional political support and long-standing commercial credibility to ensure legitimacy and credibility.

The main tasks assigned to the authority include:

    • Issuing legally and politically binding decisions.
    • Approving major legislation and appointments.
    • Setting long-term strategic directions.
    • Reporting directly to the UN Security Council.

Last night, the White House published President Donald Trump’s plan on Gaza, which included 20 points mainly calling for an immediate end to the war if both parties agree. It stipulated that Gaza would be disarmed and governed by a Palestinian committee with international experts, excluding any role for Hamas.
