On Friday evening, the economic capital witnessed dozens of citizens participating in a solidarity rally supporting the Palestinian cause, condemning at times the Israeli aggression and at other times welcoming the ceasefire decision in the Gaza Strip.
The participants in this rally, called by the Moroccan Initiative for Support and Aid in Casablanca, expressed their relief at the end of the war in Gaza following the agreement between the Palestinian Hamas movement and Israel under American sponsorship.
The protesters at Marshal Square in the heart of Casablanca considered the ceasefire a victory for Gaza, affirming that their presence in this rally was to “celebrate the resistance’s victory and to make the world hear the voice of a people who neither normalize nor bow down.”
Rachid Addouni, Vice President of the Movement of Unity and Reform, said, “This is a Moroccan stand affirming that Moroccans remain with Palestine, the resistance, and the Palestinian people as they have been since the start of the Al-Aqsa flood, expressing our solidarity and support for this people against Zionist aggression.”
Addouni told Hespress that this rally “coincides with the agreement reached by the Palestinian resistance, which calls for stopping aggression, war, displacement, the Zionist withdrawal from Gaza, and the release of prisoners.”
He added, “We consider this agreement another victory written by the resistance in this unequal war against the Zionists and their supporters, including Americans and others,” noting that “it is a Palestinian victory in the face of Arab and Islamic weakness and betrayal, and Western complicity. This highlights that the steadfastness of the Palestinian people is epic and will remain a model for all peoples and resistance movements to learn the values of patience and steadfastness despite starvation and killing.”
Meanwhile, Abdel Latif Taghzouan, one of the participants in this solidarity rally, said the event “comes on this blessed day that marks more than two years of resistance defending the cause while the world witnesses massacres and genocide.”
Taghzouan added in a statement to Hespress: “The Palestinians have the right to rejoice today in this victory; a victory against calls for displacement, genocide, and land seizure,” noting: “This is the title of victory for humanity, the cause, and all of Palestine.”
